Recognizing that demand-side energy efficiency improvements represent nearly half of the total emissions abatement opportunity to deliver the Paris goals while offering wider economic and social benefits, we commit to supporting national governments joining the three percent club and taking stronger action to put the world on a path of at least three percent annual energy efficiency improvement. Our commitment includes: 1) setting ambitious, public energy efficiency improvement goals across our own operations and 2) supporting participating countries in the design and implementation of energy efficiency policies, programs and projects.
1. ) We will take action to significantly improve the efficiency of our own operations by joining one or more public energy efficiency commitment platforms.
